Welcome to Dhamma-living camp for families

The inaugural Dhamma-living Camp for Families starts tomorrow morning at Wisdom Park.  Volunteers and Dhamma School facilitators have been enthusiastically preparing the programme, activities & facilities over the past few weeks, and are now ready to welcome parents and their children.  We look forward to seeing our participants tomorrow and wish everyone a safe journey!

Third Memorial of Venerable Dhammavuddho

22 December 2022 marks the 3rd anniversary of the passing of Venerable Dhammavuddho Mahāthero, a Malaysian monk of Chinese descent who dedicated his life to Dhamma.  The late Ven. Dhammavuddho founded Vihara Buddha Gotama, a forest monastery in Perak that serves as a training facility for monks and those aspiring to be monks, as well as for the laity to study and practise Dhamma.

Meaningful trip for Dhamma School teenagers

On 2 to 4 December, Nalanda Dhamma School students and facilitators embarked on a study tour to Johor Bahru to strengthen their understanding of Buddhist practices, different  traditions and experience Dhamma living. Over just three days, they visited monasteries and museums in southern Malaysia and had the opportunity to cultivate dāna, sīla and bhavana.

Pray for the victims of Batang Kali landslide

A tragic landslide which struck the camping grounds around an organic farm in Batang Kali has claimed 21 lives.  Nearly half a million cubic metres of soil swept from the edge of the Batang Kali-Genting Highlands trunk in the early morning of Friday 16 December, after the incessant rains.  Of the 94 people believed to be caught in the landslide, 61 are now safe while 12 are still missing.

Buddhist leaders rejoice at Wisdom Park

On Saturday 26 November, over 100 members of the Mahā Sangha and Buddhist leaders gathered at Wisdom Park in a joyful reunion of kalyana mittas. The group received updates on the progress of this educational facility dedicated to the Buddha Sasana and rejoiced in the Dhamma programmes held there to-date.

Countdown – NEO Centre KL Officiating Ceremony is tomorrow

Final touches are being put in place for the Officiating Ceremony of NEO Centre in Happy Garden, Kuala Lumpur tomorrow.  The newly expanded NEO Centre measures 4,500 sq. ft. and can host multiple programmes simultaneously.  Its four-fold increase in capacity of 200 people aims to provide the community with avenues to learn and cultivate the Dhamma in their lives.  Operating hours will be from 2 – 10pm on Tuesdays to Fridays and 9am to 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Countdown – 2 more days to NEO Centre KL Officiating Ceremony

Preparations have been rife in the past weeks to prepare the new NEO Centre in Happy Garden and ensure it is ready to receive esteemed guests on its officiation.  Volunteers have been gathering at the Centre every day to help in all manner of tasks. It is this spirit of selflessness that defines our community of volunteers who come from all walks of life.  Teachers, professionals, youths, teenagers, home-makers and those retired work together harmoniously and with care for each other.
