A Pindacāra (monks going on alms-round) was held at Seri Kembangan market yesterday morning. It was a joyful occasion as we witnessed the public cheerfully approaching the venerable monks to offer food and other allowable requisites with respect. It is indeed inspiring to see this monthly programme becoming a platform for lay people to experience joy and happiness through wholesome acts of giving.
After the pindacāra, the venerables gave a sharing about the simplicity of a monk’s livelihood. They performed chanting and blessing for devotees at the market’s car park, where we set up a makeshift gathering place. Food gathered through pindacāra was sent to the temple in Sentul, and an old folks’ home nearby.
We would like to thank the venerable monks for their support in this monthly pindacāra programme, as well as all volunteers, devotees, and the public for your encouraging participation. May we continue to grow spiritually with this wholesome practice. We look forward to seeing you in our next pindacāra which will be held in Seri Kembangan on 15 February. Sadhu anumodana!
