The popular Nalanda ‘Family Fun Fair’ in Johor Bahru was successfully held last Sunday, 16 September. A total of 81 stalls offered a variety of home-cooked delicacies, beverages, and household items to the delight of more than 3,000 shoppers and visitors.
Throughout the day, fair-goers were treated to many performances by Dhamma School students and talented devotees. Many people also visited three specially set up exhibitions: (1) on the late Venerable K. Sri Dhammananda’s Centenary Celebration, (2) on Nalanda programmes, and (3) on ‘Wisdom Park’ – our latest project to build an integrated campus to train future Buddhist leaders and teachers.
We were honoured to receive the visit by Yang Berhormat Liow Cai Tung, the Johor State EXCO Member for Women Development and Tourism, who is also the State Assemblywoman for Johor Jaya. The popular Y.B. Liow was hosted by Nalanda Branch Chairman Bro. Yap; she spent time mingling easily with the crowd and visited the exhibitions at NEO Centre.
We are grateful for the generous support from sponsors, stall operators, donors, neighbours, and the public for another fruitful ‘Family Fun Fair’ held at Nalanda J.B. Branch. We thank everyone involved in the event and hope you will continue to rejoice over your selfless giving for a noble cause! With this merit, may all of us continue to have opportunities to serve the Buddha-Sāsana. Sādhu anumodanā!
