Deep appreciation for Buddha Day programmes

Deep appreciation for Buddha Day programmes

Thank you all for contributing to this extraordinary and joyful Buddha Day celebration this year!

Namo Buddhaya!  Last night, we concluded the final official programme to celebrate Buddha Day B.E.2564 – the “Night of Togetherness in Dhamma”.  We hope the programme was a fitting tribute to the Wesak theme, ‘Tranquility in the face of Uncertainty’.

This year’s unusual circumstances due to Covid-19 pandemic meant that all our Wesak programmes had to be offered on-line, which was something very new to us at Nalanda.  Despite the challenges of working remotely and separately, we are thankful that the great Nalandian spirit of unity and harmony prevailed, resulting in the production of many beneficial programmes for the public.

Working well together, the organising and technical teams were able to produce a brand new website (www.wesak.org.my) dedicated to the Buddha Day celebration, many well-received videos of Dhamma talks by our teachers, and a creative virtual exhibition themed “Happy Mind Happy Life” by Nalanda Dhamma School students.  These additions have been a great boon to many devotees looking for inspiring teachings, relevant knowledge, and reliable information on Buddha-Dhamma.  We are heartened that the weekly videos produced in the last two months have garnered almost 300,000 views on Facebook and YouTube alone.

Nalanda Buddhist Society would like to extend our deep appreciation and grateful thanks to our Venerable teachers, Dhamma speakers, the Buddha Day organising team, the technical support team, and everyone involved in one or many ways in providing us with such a variety of spiritual and holistic educational programmes.  Sadhu anumodana for the great effort put into creating those remarkable videos.

We would also like to thank all viewers at home – from all over Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, India, and regions near and far – for tuning in to our educational programmes, thus providing us with the opportunity to serve the world in need of spiritual solace.  Thank you for all your kind encouragement and positive comments which number into the thousands.  Going forward, we shall strive to develop quality programmes so that there will be more inspiring talks and reliable information on Buddhism available to the public.

For those who have not been to Nalanda Centre or our branches in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Sungai Petani, we look forward to welcoming you to our centres after this lock-down period.  In the meantime, take good care of yourselves physically, mentally and spiritually by staying active, positive and grateful.  May you be well, happy and peaceful.  Thank you all for an extraordinary and joyful celebration of Buddha Day!
