On Tuesday 24 June, Nalanda Centre was honoured to have Āyasmā Kumāra to deliver a Mandarin Dhamma talk with the title ‘以智慧面对逆境’ (“How to overcome adversities with Wisdom”).  When faced with difficulty in life, one should face it, accept it, and handle it with a positive mind and wisdom.

Everyone has the seed of wisdom within oneself.  However, without cultivation, one would usually ‘react’ driven by habitual tendency when faced with challenges instead of handling it based on Dhamma and wisdom.  To overcome this habitual tendency, we can pause, reflect, and answer the question – “How can I practice in accordance with Dhamma under such circumstances?”  We should also calm the mind (i.e. emotion and feelings) before tackling the issue (先处理心情, 后处理事情).

Dhamma talks and meditation sessions at Nalanda Centre tend to attract a youthful crowd as many young adults find the teachings very practical and beneficial.

The talk was followed by a lively Q & A session whereby devotees took the opportunity to clarify doubts in their daily practice with Āyasma Kumāra.  We thank Ven. Kumāra for his wonderful teachings and we wish Bhante much success in his Dhammaduta work. Sadhu anumodana!
