Dialogue with PATRIA in Jakarta

Dialogue with PATRIA in Jakarta

First dialogue session in the morning between PATRIA and Nalandian officers.

As part of the programme for their official visit to Jakarta, Nalanda officers met up with the Executive Committee of PATRIA (“Pemuda Theravada Indonesia”) for an interactive dialogue session on Saturday, 3 May.  PATRIA is a national body representing Indonesian Theravada youths; it has branches and activity centres in many provinces throughout the country.

It was the second official meeting between Nalanda and PATRIA following the successful inaugural dialogue back in October 2012.  We thank the EXCO of PATRIA for having another wonderful session with Nalandian officers, which proved very lively and productive with useful exchange of ideas.

Buddhist Fellowship Indonesia (BFI) President Sis. Wenny Lo introducing BFI team members to PATRIA EXCO.

President of PATRIA Bro. Tedy Wijaya requested Nalanda to host a study tour of Indonesian Buddhist youths to Malaysia.  Nalanda Founder Bro. Tan gladly offered to host them in Kuala Lumpur and in Kedah to visit some of the oldest Buddhist archaeological sites in Southeast Asia. We look forward to welcoming the Indonesian youth leaders on their visit to Malaysia soon. “Selamat Datang”!
