Donation drive to assist flood victims

George Town was inundated by water causing substantial damages to infrastructure and properties.

Theravāda Buddhist Council of Malaysia (TBCM) and Malaysian Buddhist Association (MBA) are jointly coordinating a flood relief campaign to collect donations to assist victims of the ongoing flooding in Penang and Kedah.  The flood is the most serious to have hit the northern states in decades.

The public who wishes to donate to the relief fund can bank-in your contribution of any amount to: “Theravada Buddhist Council of Malaysia” – CIMB Bank Bhd. Account no.: 8000-72-4070.

Kindly WhatsApp the bank-in slip to 016-928-4514, marked with your name and/or organisation, and state that it is for “Flood Relief for Penang & Kedah”.  This donation drive will be carried out until the end of November 2017.  Thank you for your compassionate assistance.  Sādhu anumodana!

Residents in many parts of Penang were evacuated from the homes due to rising water level.
