Three powerful earthquakes in the past four days struck Kyushu Island in Southern Japan and Ecuador in South America, causing serious damage and the loss of many lives.  Dozens have been killed in each of the two shaken countries, with the death toll expected to rise further as search efforts continue.

Let us spare some thoughts for the victims of these tragedies, and dedicate our prayers for their safety and well-being.  May the deceased be laid to rest in Peace, and may their grieving families stay calm and composed in such difficult times.  May the injured recover well, and those missing be quickly found.

May all beings be free from harm and danger; may they be free from suffering!
