Enriching field trip to Putrajaya

We rejoice in the learning spirit of our participants and volunteers.

On Sunday 1 September, participants of the second intake of the Horticulture & Landscaping Course (HCL 001) completed their course with a study trip to the Botanical Garden at Putrajaya. The educational excursion was led by Dr. Chen, lead of the Landscaping Team at Nalanda.

Participants were introduced to a diverse range of tree species, as Dr. Chen shared detailed knowledge about each tree’s characteristics, growth patterns, and its vital role in the ecosystem.  This immersive learning experience allowed participants to not only appreciate the natural beauty of the plants but also understand their practical applications and ecological significance.

Dr. Chen providing information on Pokok Gelam, which has papery bark and is usually found in sandy beach area.

Participants getting to know more about Borassus, a species of palm tree.

The Putrajaya Botanical Garden also hosts indoor displays of rare fruits found in Malaysia.

Grateful for a fresh day out in the nature.

We extend our appreciation to Dr. Chen, the organisers, and all course participants for their dedication and enthusiasm.  We also rejoice in the learning spirit of our participants and volunteers who embraced this opportunity to develop new skills as part of their service to the community.  Sadhu anumodana.
