On Saturday 24 February, Nalanda was honoured to host Venerable Tan Chao Khun Samai for an alms-round on our monthly Pindacara route at Taman OUG morning market, a Dhamma Chat in Nalanda Community Centre, and a tour of Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang. In just one day, Tan Chao Khun Samai made a mark on many members of the community through his teachings and benevolence in accepting offerings.
At the Nalanda Book Café Community Centre, Tan Chao Khun Samai gave a simple, practical and gradual teaching on the ‘Ovada Patimokkha’, the teaching of the Buddha to the spontaneous gathering of 1,250 Arahant bhikkhus that outline the Dhamma practice – “To abandon evil; cultivate virtues; and to purify one’s own mind”. It was an especially significant occasion as Venerable’s visit coincided with the observance of Māgha Pūja Day.
We thank Venerable Tan Chao Khun Samai and Ven. Ajahn Sunthon for gracing our community with their presence and for teaching the precious Dhamma. We wish Venerables the best of health, long life, happiness and peace.
