‘Sangha Day’ is an important occasion at Nalanda for the lay community to honour the virtues and contributions of the Māha Sangha (monastic order) in preserving and propagating Buddhism. The ‘Sangha’ refers to the entire community of bhikkhus (monks) and bhikkhunis (nuns) – ordained disciples of the Buddhist order.

This is an occasion to express gratitude to monks and nuns who strive diligently to bring happiness and peace to mankind.  Devotees in return offer robes, food, medicinal support, educational support, and other requisites to them.  If you wish to offer robes, requisites or make sponsorship towards the Sangha fund, please call Nalanda Centre at 03-8938 1500 for the arrangements.

There will also be an offering of lunch dana to the Maha Sangha.  We welcome you and your family members to jointly participate in this noble observance.
