Exploring spirituality with Ach. Vijaya

Exploring spirituality with Ach. Vijaya

We thank Pustaka Nalanda and Ach. Vijaya for this valuable learning session.

On Saturday 26 October, Pustaka Nalanda hosted a ‘Meet the Author’ session for avid learners to learn with the author of ‘A Buddhist Reflects on Spirituality’, Achariya Vijaya Samarawickrama.

In this interactive session, Ach. Vijaya shared that when life-affirming pursuits do not bring about lasting happiness, people would then explore life-negating pursuits that goes beyond materialistic gains and pleasures. He then delved deeper into how spirituality transcends religion and factors of spiritual practice.

The session was hosted at Pustaka Nalanda in the Seri Serdang centre.

The learning session started with offerings and undertaking the Three Refuges.

Sis. Sandy Lim moderated the session.

The session is hosted by Pustaka Nalanda Volunteer Sis. Chooi Kim

“There is so much anguish in the world because humans search for life-affirming and materialistic needs.” as quoted by Ach. Vijaya

Ach. Vijaya shared that anger, greed and delusion cause us much dissatisfaction and suffering.

Progress in our spiritual and devotional practices would be even more beneficial when it is accompanied by right understanding because we will make necessary efforts towards our goal.  We express our heartfelt gratitude to Ach. Vijaya for sharing with us his wisdom and insights.
