On 22 March, the Family Dhamma School in Kuala Lumpur held its school session in Wisdom Park as their first outing in 2025. A total of 65 members of the School started the day with meditation and devotional chanting, joint by youths and volunteers.
Everyone then went outdoors to plant trees and propagate shrubs. Fathers and senior male students planted trees at the Liberation Park, while mothers led the younger children to carefully propagate small and fragile shrubs.
The day started with meditation and communal chanting joined by Youth Centre members who were also there to prepare for an upcoming Undergraduate Camp.
After the outdoor service, an exciting and lively “fashion show” was held with all families designing an outfit made from recycled materials and items gathered from nature. It was full of laughter as everyone cheered on the “models” for their creative outfits and engagement with the audience.
Later, each family created kites with drawings and written qualities they wish to achieve in their families. Children and parents worked together in the designing, sketching, colouring and setting up the kite for flying.
The day concluded with a reflection session. Parents and children shared that the outing was joyous and meaningful one, having the opportunity to contribute back to Wisdom Park and spend wholesome and fun time with their families.
We extend our gratitude to all families for their participation, and to all volunteers and facilitators for their hard work in making the outing a memorable one. May they be well, healthy and happy always!
