On Saturday, 21 September, Nalanda Free School organised a learning trip for its students. The group of 30 students and teachers travelled to Kuala Kubu Bahru and joined volunteers there for service to learn and cultivate the values of teamwork and kindness.
In cheerful spirits and with a shared purpose, the students worked hand-in-hand to set up rooms for elderly guests from Than Hsiang Temple, and also planted trees and shrubs. The day was filled with camaraderie and laughter as the students enjoyed a lively game of ‘Captain Ball’, forging new friendships and discovering the joy of working together as a team.
To welcome the elders, the students performed two delightful songs that brought smiles and happiness to all present. The group also took the opportunity to express their gratitude to the elders, acknowledging the wisdom, love, and contributions they have made to society. Their presence was a gentle reminder of the importance of respecting and learning from those who have come before us.
We rejoice in the dedicated efforts of our Free School teachers and volunteers, who lovingly nurture these young hearts, planting seeds of kindness and compassion that will blossom throughout their lives. Sadhu!
