Nalanda Buddhist Society wishes our Muslim friends ‘Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri’ as they celebrate the arrival of Syawal tomorrow. It is a wonderful time for family gatherings and for celebrating gratitude and forgiveness.
The past few months have been a trying period for our country with many natural tragedies and man-made problems. Malaysians must face these vicissitudes of life with fortitude and resilience. People of all religious persuasions should reflect wisely on the meaning of living a spiritual life. Is it to make peace, or to create violence?
We have the ability to turn the course of events around with our wisdom, goodwill and determination. Different groups need to forge healthy ties by having frequent dialogues, the aim of which is to develop better understanding of each other, and especially of religious minorities. Let us strive to live up to the greater ideals of religion; lead a beneficent and wholesome life for the well-being of our nation and her people.
Salam mettā* untuk Malaysia.
