Hosting Singapore Buddhist Mission Youths

Kalyana mittas to support each other in learning and service.

From 7 to 9 June, Nalanda members hosted 17 youths from Singapore Buddhist Mission (SBM) on their overseas service trip to Kuala Lumpur.  SBM Youth is a fellowship of young and vibrant Buddhists and focuses it activities on balancing spiritual pursuits with youthful living.

Energetic and robust, the group spent a day in selfless service at Wisdom Park to plant trees and help in  the preparations for an upcoming meditation retreat.  To complete their trip, the youths participated in a Dhamma learning session and reflection on their service experience.

We thank our friends in SBM Youth for visiting us, and applaud their spirit of ‘veyyāvacca’ – service, which is part of our spiritual cultivation to develop liberality and kindness while supporting the community.  Sadhu anumodana.
