Jeṭṭha New-moon Uposatha Day Observance

'Pūja' (offerings to the Three Jewels) done with devotion and accompanied by soothing Pāli chanting.

Thursday 29 May was the New-moon day of Jeṭṭha month.  Nalandians and devotees gathered at Nalanda Centre Sri Serdang for Uposatha Observance and an evening of spiritual nurturing.  After meditation, pūja and chanting, Bro. Tan gave an inspiring Dhamma teaching based on the Buddhist parable of “blind men describing an elephant”.

The gist of Thursday’s teaching is not to be attached to one’s views as reality.  One needs to have the humility to admit one’s lack of complete understanding in all spheres of knowledge, and to hear out the views of others without preconceived ideas.

Bro. Tan giving an insightful and inspiring teaching based on the Buddhist parable of "blind men describing an elephant" - about the pitfalls and dangers of holding on ignorantly to views.

The inspired congregation ended the evening with blessings to all benefactors and devotees, and for the successful completion of Nalanda Centre’s building expansion project currently underway.  Sadhu anumodana.
