Do you have any photographs of the late Ven. K. Sri Dhammananda? If you do, the ‘K. Sri Dhammananda Centenary Celebrations Committee’ would like to have a digital copy of them! The ‘Celebrations Committee’ comprises representatives from various Buddhist organizations in Malaysia. As part of the special commemoration this year, we intend to publish a book to highlight the life-time achievements of the late Ven. Dhammananda (1918–2006).
From the time he set foot in Malaysia (then known as Malaya) from Sri Lanka in 1952, Ven. Dhammananda had been relentless in spreading the teachings of the Buddha until he passed away in 2006 at the age of 88. He has been an inspiration to millions of Buddhists throughout the world, especially in Malaysia, Singapore, and Sri Lanka.
There will be a pictorial section in the book that highlights the extraordinary life of the late Ven. Dhammananda, including his outreach programmes over the years. We would like to include photographs of his many Dhamma activities at various Buddhist centres and temples throughout the world. As such we would like to request you to send us photos of Ven. K. Sri Dhammananda’s missionary activities if you have any, together with appropriate captions and year the event(s) took place.
As the book is intended to be launched on 31 August 2018, we would appreciate receiving the photos from you before 31 May 2018. Digital copies of photographs can be sent to “K. Sri Dhammananda Centenary Book Editorial Committee” at hstan@nalanda.org.my .
Thank you for your support towards this publication. Let us honour the memory of the late Ven. Dhammananda with a great felicitation volume that uplifts and inspires many more people!
