Sri Dhammananda, who left the confines of his village in rural Sri Lanka and spent five decades bringing the sublime message of the Buddha to millions all over the world.

“In many ways, he represented the ideals of the Buddhist monk through his personal conduct as well as his teachings.  His compassion knew no bounds, and his generosity with his time and energy were legendary.  We celebrate his gift to mankind, as much as we humbly acknowledge the great privilege we have had to be associated with him.”
