Nalanda founder Bro. Tan has called for a leadership conference involving all central and branch leaders next month to discuss the future development of Nalanda branches. In a meeting with the Board of Management (BoM) in Sri Serdang tonight, Bro. Tan said that branch centres can play a more proactive and effective role in promoting holistic Buddhist education to their local communities.
Three of Nalanda’s branches namely Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Sungai Petani have elected new management committees in their Annual General Meetings earlier this month. Bro. Tan and the BoM thanked the three outgoing branch committees for their hard work over the last two years; they also congratulated the newly-elected branch leaders on their recent appointments.
The new branch committee members will be invited to the leadership conference scheduled on 30 April, as well as to celebrate ‘Nalanda Day’ on 1 May, which marks the 13th anniversary of the Society’s establishment.
