Learning to know the mind with Ajahn Karuniko

Ajahn Karuniko gave advice that devotees can relate to as he used many real-life examples to illustrate the points.

On Wednesday 27 November, Nalanda members and devotees had the opportunity to learn from Ajahn Karuniko in the evening service at Nalanda Centre.  Ajahn taught us ways to be aware of the mind states and reflect on our thoughts skilfully in order to maintain calm and respond wisely when faced with difficult situations.

Sharing his experiences throughout his 40 years of monkhood, Ajahn Karuniko related how accepting the situation and developing empathy enables us to open our hearts and be more tolerant of others.  When we do not hold on to negative emotions, we will naturally become more peaceful and happy.

Nalanda leaders and devotees thanked Ajahn Karuniko for coming to Nalanda and guiding us.
