Talk on “Meaningful Love”

Talk on “Meaningful Love”

Achariya Vijaya captured everyone’s attention with the Dhamma talk on “Meaningful Love”.

On Sunday 15 February, Achariya Vijaya Samarawickrama gave a talk on “Meaningful Love”.  It was an apt topic which captured everyone’s attention as it was just a day after Valentine’s Day.

Achariya Vijaya said that love can be at two levels: ‘lokiya’, which is mundane and carries the concerns of worldliness; and ‘lokuttara’, which is spiritual and transcends the material world. For love to be meaningful, we need to see things as they truly are and understand the interconnectedness of all beings.  In this way, we learn to distinguish between “self-ish” and “self-less” love.

The morning talk ended joyfully and devotees took the opportunity to clean up Nalanda Centre before Chinese New Year.  During this holiday period, we wish everyone safe travels and a wonderful New Year!

Our appreciation to Achariya Vijaya for the wonderful talk!
