The 19th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Nalanda Buddhist Society Malaysia was successfully held on Sunday, 20 March at Nalanda Centre Sri Serdang. Members received reports detailing the Society’s programmes in 2021 and discussed plans for the coming year, as the country starts to open up from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Sis. Buddhini Tan, President of the Society acknowledged and thanked Nalanda Management Committee and Education Committee for their relentless efforts and leadership in conducting Dhamma and educational programmes amidst the challenges and uncertainty of the past year. As conditions continue to evolve, she relayed to members that whilst our collective efforts have reaped positive impacts in the past, we must continue to play our part and step up to meet new challenges ahead.
Members also shared their gratitude for the selfless work of fellow volunteers and dedicated staff who went beyond the call of duty in the past year. Bro. Tan Siang Chye, Director of Nalanda Institute rejoiced in their inspiring commitment, and reminded us that our service to the Buddha-Sāsana can give rise to deep and enduring happiness. Whilst this supports us as we tread the Noble Eightfold Path, this joy also has immediate effect in our well-being and sense of fulfilment.
We thank all members for their active participation and support. Let us take every opportunity to participate to wholesome programmes and contribute to worthy causes. May the Buddha-Sāsana long endure!
