On Sunday 6 September, many devotees were delighted with the Dhamma sharing by Datuk Charlie Chia, who shared his experiences as a youth learning Dhamma from the late Venerable Kirinde Sri Dhammananda Nāyaka Thero.
He recalled many fond and happy memories of his ‘One-man show, salesman act’ during his younger days. He used to pack lots of Dhamma books into the back of his car and travelled all over Malaysia during weekends. He would sell Dhamma books at different ‘stations’ and took opportunity to encourage more people to learn Buddhism. Datuk Charlie had since travelled far and wide in his dedication to spread the Dhamma.
Recollecting his memories of the late Ven. K. Sri Dhammananda, Datuk Charlie praised the venerable for whole-heartedly teaching the Dhamma by connecting and inspiring people through his insightful talks and publications. Datuk Charlie also shared many personal unforgettable moments with the late venerable, which will always remain deep in his heart.
Devotees had many bursts of laughter throughout the ‘light-hearted’ session with Datuk Charlie. Everyone appreciated his sharing with ‘fun’ and ‘funny’ anecdotes of the late Ven. K Sri Dhammananda. Sadhu anumodana!
