‘Mindful’ Trip to Putrajaya

‘Mindful’ Trip to Putrajaya

Happy faces of facilitators and students after earnest mental cultivation on their outing to Putrajaya!

On Sunday 28 September, Nalanda Dharma School students went on a trip to Taman Putra Perdana, Putrajaya, to practise meditation outdoors.  Students started the day with chanting, followed by light physical exercise; they were then ready for meditation.  Students were introduced to ‘walking meditation’, using their movement as meditation ‘object’.  After the walking session, they continued with another round of sitting meditation.

Students were guided by facilitators to slowly and mindfully stretch the bodies.

Sis. Sunanda Ong, Director of Nalanda Dharma School, gave a Dhamma sharing to conclude the trip.  She encouraged all the students to cultivate and purify their minds, as ‘the mind is the forerunner of all states’.  With pure minds, we can experience true happiness and peace.

Dharma School facilitators and students had an enjoyable time learning about mental cultivation, and felt their bodies and minds refreshed in the serene and lush environment.  Everyone returned to Nalanda Centre with renewed aspirations to continue their daily cultivation!

The lush and serene environment at the park was very conducive for meditation.
