Nalanda Leaders meet in Serdang

The Nalanda Board of Management invited Founder Bro. Tan and leaders from the 3 branches to attend its most-recent meeting at Sri Serdang headquarters.

During the most recent Board of Management meeting on 14 November, Nalanda President Bro. Lee Kong Foo invited Founder Bro. Tan and the Chairmen of Nalanda’s 3 branches in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Sungai Petani to attend the session.  It was the perfect occasion for a ‘family gathering’ as the Nalandian officers freely exchanged ideas and got updated on the Society’s upcoming programmes.

Bro. Tan, who rarely attends Board Meetings, reminded all leaders to uphold Dhamma principles, to cultivate Nalandian values, and to lead by example.  Nalandians are urged to live modestly and wholesomely, and to devote themselves to community service besides personal spiritual pursuits.

Founder Bro. Tan usually has both funny and serious matters to share with everyone!

The Board of Management took the opportunity to thank all branch leaders and members for their commitment and contribution to the Society.  Financial grants were disbursed by Nalanda headquarters to all 3 branches for them to organize educational programmes next year to benefit their respective local communities.  Sadhu anumodana!

Specially invited to the meeting were the 3 Branch Chairmen (from left): Bro. Khaw Seng Giap (Sungai Petani); Bro. Yap Chong Huat (Johor Bahru); and Bro. Eugene Yong (Kuala Lumpur).
