Nalanda Buddhist Society members congregated at our ‘spiritual home’ – Nalanda Centre – on Saturday 26 October for another reunion-like Members’ Day gathering. This round, new members from Nalanda Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru branches also joined the assembly for the first time. They received a warm and encouraging welcome from other Nalandians.
Members’ Day are held periodically to update Nalandians about the latest developments in the Society, as well as to share inspiring lessons and success stories with one another. There were briefings by the President, Secretary, representatives from various divisions, and reports by the two branch chairmen.
All members were inspired by the many successful and inspiring stories shared by the officers. But the most enthusiastic response was reserved for the three Nalanda Youth representatives, who warmed everyone’s hearts by their humble demeanor and down-to-earth stories of personal growth.
In his frank and inspiring sharing, Bro. Tan reminded Nalandians to keep to our high standards of integrity and service quality. At the same time, we must continue to develop our ‘faith’ in the Three Jewels, as well as in Nalanda’s educational mission. As Nalandians, we strive to fulfill our three roles – as Buddhist practitioners, as Society members, and (for most people) as Nalanda officers.
The 3-hour gathering felt more like a family reunion, especially when it came time for lunch! Thank you Nalandians for attending this gathering, and for your dedication to serve the community. Your contributions have touched the hearts of many, and helped improve the quality of people’s lives. Let us continue our service, learning and growth with strong faith and diligence!
