On Sunday 22 November, Nalandians in the Klang Valley gathered for their monthly Members’ Day at Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang.  It is always a happy occasion when members meet to catch up on the Society’s happenings.  Nalanda President Sis. Evelyn took the opportunity to welcome two new members to the Society – Sis. Poh Peng and Sis. Jia Xin – and presented them with the Nalanda’s ‘Rules & Constitution’ booklet.

The new members were invited to share their ‘Nalandian experience’.  Sis. Poh Peng shared hers as a volunteer (and recently appointed the Principal) of Nalanda Free School, and how being committed to volunteerism had enriched her life.

After which, Sis. Jia Xin shared, “I first came to Nalanda to learn the Dhamma but was so inspired that I started coming frequently, participating in activities and helping out.  Soon, I started to feel at home at the Centre.  I am now a Nalanda member, but long before this, I was already a Nalandian.”

We thank Sis. Poh Peng and Sis. Jia Xin for sharing with us their ‘Nalanda experience’, and extend our heartfelt welcome and best wishes to them.  Our next Members’ Day will be held in conjunction with the 4th National Members’ Convention (24 to 27 December) in Sungai Petani.  We look forward to meeting all Nalanda members nationwide at this annual convention.  Let us enjoy a journey of ‘samaggi’ (harmony) and ‘kalyāna-mittata’ (spiritual friendship) together!
