Sharing blessings on Dharma Drum Mountain Malaysia’s 25th Anniversary

On Monday 16 September, Nalanda leaders attended the blessing ceremony organised by Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Centre Malaysia 法鼓山马来西亚道场, in celebration of the centre’s 25th Anniversary.  The ceremony was held with the theme “A World of Blessings”, offering well-wishes and blessings for the nation's peace and prosperity on Malaysia Day.

Developing Peace within at Youth Camp

From 13 to 16 September, over 100 participants and volunteers gathered for the seventh edition of the Dhamma-living Camp for Young Adults at Wisdom Park.  Over this long holiday weekend, the youths immersed themselves in discovering how Peace begins with oneself through Dhamma talks, experiential learning, Dhamma chats and a forum.

Sanghika Dana at Serdang Buddhist Association

On Monday 16 September, Nalanda representatives, led by President Sis. Buddhinī Tan, participated in the ‘Sanghika Dana’ organised by Serdang Buddhist Association in Seri Kembangan.  This meaningful event has been held annually for the past decade to honour the dedication and efforts of both past and present Sangha members in upholding the Buddha Sāsana.  In the presence of over 100 venerable monks and nuns, the Buddhist community made offerings to the Maha Sangha, with hearts full of joy and gratitude.

Youth service explores mindfulness & awareness

On Sunday 1 September, Nalanda Youths conducted their weekly Sunday Service at the Youth Centre before the Dhamma-Living Camp for Young Adults.  Before the talk, Youth Mentor Sis. Nandini Tan lent her presence and shared that awareness is not just about being mindful in the present moment but also about understanding how we relate to our surroundings and the passage of time.  By cultivating this awareness, we can respond skillfully to situations and navigate life with purpose.

Thank you for a memorable DLCY

The Dhamma-Living Camp for Young Adults ended on a high note this Monday 16 September and we joyfully extend our appreciation to everyone who made this Camp a meaningful and fruitful experience.  Our thanks goes out to more than 100 people who came together for this Camp, comprising the Organising Committee, Dhamma speakers, facilitators, volunteers and participants; each and every one of you enabled the campers’ to learn and better understand how Peace starts from oneself.  Sadhu anumodana!

Wishing you a Happy Mid-Autumn Festival

Today is the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the moon will rise full and bright tonight.  It is traditionally a time for Chinese families to gather for reunion dinners and to wish for each other’s well-being.  Nalanda Buddhist Society wishes you happy and harmonious get-togethers with your loved ones.  May you enjoy the fullness of life and the blessings of peace within.

Selamat Hari Malaysia ke-61

Today marks the 61st anniversary of the formation of ‘Malaysia’ – a federation of 13 states spanning the Malay Peninsula, Sarawak, and Sabah.  To commemorate this occasion, over 80 youths at the Dhamma-living Camp raised the ‘Jalur Gemilang’ early this morning reflecting on how our part in nation-building is first through our own character-building by inculcating gratitude, compassion and peace within.

Institute students engage in meritorious deeds

On Saturday 7 September, students of BPS 307 Certificate in Buddhist Studies presented their much-anticipated group assignments to course lecturers and peers.  As part of their course assessments, students collaborated in groups to organise experiential learning sessions based on the theme of “Ten Meritorious Deeds” and presented their learning outcomes.

Welcome to Dhamma-Living Camp for Young Adults!

Tomorrow Nalanda Youth Centre will welcome over 90 participants for the 7th Dhamma-Living Camp for Young Adults at Wisdom Park (13 - 16 September).  With the theme ‘Peace begins with Me’, this camp offers a valuable opportunity for young adults to deepen their understanding of the Buddha-Dhamma and to integrate these timeless teachings into their lives at this formative stage.
