Read moreFrom 23 August to 2 September, a group of 35 Nalandians led by Nalanda founder Bro. Tan travelled to Ladakh for the trip of a lifetime. Ladakh is a region administered by India, located in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent at 15,000 ft above sea level, on the Karakoram mountain range. The group was privileged to be hosted by Ven. Sanghasena Mahathera, and was warmly welcomed upon arrival at Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC).

Nalanda members and devotees honoured our late Spiritual Adviser with a commemoration ceremony in the morning. After the meditation, puja and chanting, Achariya Vijaya Samarawickrama delivered a Dhamma talk on the benefits of gratitude and appreciation.

Tan, Julie Ang, Jennie Cheong, and Lee Ah Yem – met with a tragic road accident that caused them their lives. Today marks the 10th anniversary of their passing, and a group of Nalandians led by Nalanda founder Bro. Tan is now in Ladakh to pay special tribute for their services rendered to the Buddha-Sāsana.

With many fair-goers stepping forward to donate towards the ‘Care Bag’ project during the recent Nalanda Family Fun Fair 2019, we were able to choose suitable food items and provisions to help those less fortunate.
