15 October was another joyful weekend for devotees in Seri Kembangan as the third Saturday of every month is Nalanda’s educational Pindacāra programme held at the market. This time, we were truly honoured to have the Abbot of Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple in Kuala Lumpur, Venerable Sri Saranankara Nāyaka Thero, to conduct the alms-round.

Despite it being a working day, many people have taken time off to participate in Dāna, which is testimony to the great esteem the community has for Ven. Saranankara.

This was the Mission’s fifth consecutive year visiting Nalanda, and one of the events Nalandians look forward to annually.

The blaze occurred at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where all six casualties were warded. WPDC was formed in October 2015 with initially 13 members, and was tasked with preparing the ‘Master Development Plan’ for Wisdom Park – the proposed education hub for the Malaysian Buddhist community. 3 more members were later invited to join WPDC to strengthen the team.
