Ajahn Chah Remembrance Day

Pindacara - Monks going on their alms-round. It was a special event to commemorate a most special teacher. The "Ajahn Chah Remembrance Day" which was held over the weekend of 17-18 December at SJK (C) Yuk Chai in Petaling Jaya, drew hundreds of devotees to pay homage to the great Buddhist meditation master.

Jeff Oliver’s Talk

On a hectic Wednesday night, busy incomeearners and exam-ridden students who took time off the humdrum of the day to gather at Nalanda Centre, were rewarded with gems of wisdom as they learnt about "Forgiveness as a Way of Life". The talk, delivered by Bro Jeff Oliver, saw a good turnout and active exchanges between speaker and audience. A meditation teacher from Australia who has been practising Vipassana for more than 10 years, Bro Jeff Oliver offered useful insights to applying forgiveness in daily life.

It was a bright and beautiful Sunday morning as devotees, from as young as babies in their mothers' arms to hearty seniors in their 60s and 70s, thronged Nalanda Centre to offer robes and requisites to the Maha Sangha.

Dedication Ceremony – NEO @ Happy Garden

Nalanda Buddhist Society is poised to progress further with the opening of its first Education & Outreach (NEO) Centre in Happy Garden, Kuala Lumpur. The new satelite centre will enable the Society to extend its educational services to a wider community.

Happy New Year 2012

As we usher in 2012, let us reflect on the many memorable achievements of Nalanda Buddhist Society in the past year. We observed the 8th Anniversary of the Society and the 1st Anniversary of the Buddhist Community Alliance on 1 May. We acquired a new 3-storey building to cater for our projected expansion; embarked on a 'Transformation Programme'; introduced our Core Values; and improved on our Management Structure, Systems, Resources, Facilities and Human Capital. We also established the first Nalanda Education & Outreach (NEO) Centre in Happy Garden, Kuala Lumpur, to commemorate the 2,600th Year of Buddhism. A resounding 'Sadhu' to everyone for the amazing energy and marvelous effort in achieving all that and more in a mere 12 months!
