Farewell to Queen Elizabeth II

Today, Monday 19 September, Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II will be laid to rest at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.  Millions have been gathering since her passing on 8 September, to pay their last respects to this esteemed monarch who dedicated her life to her people as Queen of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth realms.

Passing of an icon – Queen Elizabeth II

Along with the people of Britain and all Commonwealth countries, we are deeply saddened by the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.  Her demise was announced by Buckingham Palace in a short statement several hours ago on 8 September. The Queen’s 70-year reign was marked by her strong sense of duty and dedication of her life to the throne, and to her people.  She had been a figure of stability, unity and grace that led the country through seismic political, social and technological upheaval from post-war Britain to the modern era, becoming a much-loved and respected figure across the globe.

Heartful gratitude on Memorial Day

On Wednesday 31 August, Nalanda members, devotees, volunteers and Dhamma School students gathered to honour our late Spiritual Advisor Ven. K. Sri Dhammananda at Nalanda Centre.  Although it has been 16 years after his passing, his missionary impact and contribution to Buddhism in Malaysia continues to be felt in today’s Buddhist societies and communities, of which many are rooted in the late venerable’s efforts.

Youths host Sunway University Buddhist Society

On Sunday 28 August, Nalanda Youth Centre hosted 20 students from Sunway University Buddhist Society at the weekly Youth Sunday Service. After the morning meditation and chanting, a youth forum was moderated by Sis. Lim Xin to explore how young adults can face uncertainty at different junctures in their lives.

100 days to Officiating Ceremony of NEO Centre KL

The re-development of Nalanda Education & Outreach (NEO) Centre Kuala Lumpur is now 90% complete and the Centre is on schedule for its officiating ceremony on Sunday, 11 December 2022. This expanded facility of 4,500 sqft will enable the community in its vicinity to gather, learn and practise Dhamma. It features a Dhamma Teaching & Meditation Hall, a reference library, management office, meeting room, discussion room and kitchen.
