Nottingham Youth Camp at Nalanda

Nottingham Youth Camp at Nalanda

Bro. Tan shared the causes of anxiety and ways to train our minds to overcome them.

From 22 to 24 March, 30 undergraduates from Nottingham University Buddhist Society (NBS) immersed themselves in a learning camp at Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang.  The theme of the camp was ‘Yellow Brick Road’, symbolizing one’s journey to true happiness.

Over the 3 days, campers learned from Dhamma teachers and speakers including Nalanda founder Bro. Tan, and Nalanda Institute Director Achariya Tan Siang Chye.  The talks focused on understanding the causes of anxiety, and learning ways to deal with it in daily life.

Campers honed their meditation practice twice in a day.

Students formed smaller groups to discuss their daily learning and reflections.

We commend the spirit of our young friends from NBS in bringing the Dhamma to their campus community.  Nalanda believes in supporting their educational programmes and activities so that more youths will learn Dhamma to improve the quality of their lives.  We wish NBS members good progress in their spiritual path.  Sadhu anumodana.
