Parenting workshop in Johor by Bro. Aggaphala Yap

Bro. Aggaphala encouraged parents to focus on asking questions, empathise, and understand the context instead of jumping to solutions or comparisons.

On Saturday 7 December, Nalanda Dhamma School hosted a parenting workshop led by Bro. Aggaphala Yap for over 30 participants to learn and discuss how to address children’s emotional needs effectively at different development stages, cultivate positive character traits and enhance parent-child relationships through effective communication.

We need to consider and then adapt to the changing emotional needs of children in order to support their mental growth. From providing love and a safe environment when they were babies, we enhance our caregiving to helping our children learn social abilities, develop confidence and responsibility. Parents also discussed how to build trust as a foundation for guidance and be aware of emotions before offering any help.

It was a very interactive workshop with candid inputs from parents.

Active participation from the floor.

Learning how to engage in different situations.

Participants appreciated the practical ways taught by Bro. Aggaphala to connect better with their children in order to guide them towards becoming valued members of the community. We extend our thanks to the Bro. Aggaphala, the Branch members and school facilitators as well as all participants for making this a fruitful learning experience. Sadhu!
