15 October was another joyful weekend for devotees in Seri Kembangan as the third Saturday of every month is Nalanda’s educational Pindacāra programme held at the market.  This time, we were truly honoured to have the Abbot of Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple in Kuala Lumpur, Venerable Sri Saranankara Nāyaka Thero, to conduct the alms-round.

The day’s programme began as usual with chanting at Nalanda Centre early in the morning and a briefing session for volunteers before heading to Seri Kembangan market for Pindacāra.  The briefing was especially beneficial for volunteers participating in the programme for the first time.

The Pindacāra began soon after Ven. Saranankara arrived at 8.30am.  This time around, several BPS304 Buddhist Certificate Studies course participants also took part in the alms-round as part of their group assignment to know more about Buddhist traditions.  Market-goers and stall operators in Seri Kembangan were very happy to offer food to monks, and witnessing their joy and devotion truly warms the heart.

After the alms-round, Ven. Saranankara gave advice and blessings to volunteers and devotees before leaving for the monastery.  We thank the venerable for his kind presence and great support for the Pindacāra programme.  We also thank all volunteers and participants of BPS304 course for assisting with the activity.  Sadhu anumodana.
