‘Pindacāra’ in Seri Kembangan

‘Pindacāra’ in Seri Kembangan

Nalanda’s twice-monthly ‘Pindacāra’ programme is warmly welcomed by many devotees waiting patiently for the arrival of the venerable ‘bhikkhus’ (monks).

Report by Vincent Lee

On Saturday 15 November, devotees and volunteers gathered at the Seri Kembangan morning market for our monthly ‘Pindacāra’ (monks going on alms-round).  On this morning, four members from Nalanda Sungai Petani Branch joined the ‘Pindacāra’ programme for the first time.  They were eager to learn and to experience the joy of helping out at the ‘Pindacāra’ programme.

Three venerable ‘bhikkhus’ from Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple, Sentul were invited to participate in this morning’s ‘Pindacāra’.  Market-goers and traders in the vicinity of the market, now familiar with our alms-round programme held every third Saturday of the month at Seri Kembangan, joyfully came forward to make offerings to the venerables.  The ‘Pindacāra’ concluded with the venerables conducting blessings for the devotees and volunteers.

We would like to thank all devotees and volunteers for participating in the ‘Pindacāra’ and we rejoice over your wholesome deeds.  Sadhu anumodanā!

A great way to start the young ones onto the spirit of generosity!
