Second Anniversary of NEO Centre Johor Bahru

Second Anniversary of NEO Centre Johor Bahru

The NEO Centre Johor Bahru was officially launched by members of the Maha Sangha in May 2013.

Today marks the second anniversary of the opening of Nalanda Education & Outreach (NEO) Centre in Taman Johor Jaya, Johor Bahru.  On this special occasion, Nalanda Buddhist Society would like to thank all members, benefactors, volunteers and supporters who have worked hard for the establishment of this important Dhamma-education facility in Southern Johor.

Since its opening on 26 May 2013, NEO Centre JB has been organising weekly service on Sundays and spiritual gatherings on Uposatha days without break.  The centre also hosted many Dhamma talks and even courses for the benefit of the large surrounding community.

‘Service Sunday’ and spiritual gatherings are held weekly to benefit the community.

In 2014, the Nalanda Free School JB was started with an intake of 150 students.  But the most significant development since its opening was the commencement of Nalanda Dharma School for teenagers on 8 March this year.  With many more development programmes lined up, NEO Centre JB will in time emerge as a full-fledged regional centre for Dhamma-learning and propagation.

Nalanda Free School focuses not just on academic excellence, but also on inculcating good values.

We look forward to receiving everyone’s continuous support and assistance in making Dhamma freely available to thousands more.  We also welcome your visit to NEO Centre JB on opening days.  May the Buddha-Sasana grow further and long endure!

Nalanda Dharma School commenced in March 2015 with strong emphasis on spiritual cultivation.
