Nalanda was honoured to host Yang Berhormat Dato’ Teng Chang Khim, a senior Selangor State EXCO Member, at our recent ‘Family Fun Fair’ held in Sri Serdang. Despite his busy schedule, Dato’ Teng accepted Nalanda’s invitation to be our Guest-of-honour at the festive event.
It was his first visit to Nalanda Centre and Dato’ Teng was very impressed by the community and education programmes organised by Nalanda. He also expressed amazement at the huge crowd that turned up for the ‘Family Fun Fair’, saying that he had previously only seen this kind of strong backing for Chinese school charities. For that, he concluded that Nalanda must have contributed a great deal to the local community over the years to enjoy that level of support.
Dato’ Teng was brought on a delightful and informative tour of Nalanda Centre by senior officers. He spent time enjoying lunch and mingling with the crowd at the Fun Fair. Dato’ Teng also gave away study aids and prizes to students of Nalanda Free School – a community-service programme which offers free academic tuition and learning workshops to primary and secondary school students in Serdang.
We thank Y. B. Dato’ Teng for his visit and encouragement towards Nalanda’s community projects. Sadhu!
