Sanghika Dana at Serdang Buddhist Association

On Monday 16 September, Nalanda representatives, led by President Sis. Buddhinī Tan, participated in the ‘Sanghika Dana’ organised by Serdang Buddhist Association in Seri Kembangan.  This meaningful event has been held annually for the past decade to honour the dedication and efforts of both past and present Sangha members in upholding the Buddha Sāsana.  In the presence of over 100 venerable monks and nuns, the Buddhist community made offerings to the Maha Sangha, with hearts full of joy and gratitude.

Joyful service at Silver Lining Day

On Saturday 18 August, 45 Nalanda Youth members and volunteers engaged with the children of Mon Learning Centre during the Silver Lining Day programme. This programme is organised by Nalanda Youth Centre to provide an avenue for young volunteers to practice kindness by offering their service to the community.

A meaningful day of learning and service

Since dawn this morning, Nalanda members, devotees and volunteers have been out and about doing service for the benefit of others and exerting effort in Dhamma learning.  From Hulu Selangor to Johor Bahru, groups of kalyana mittā have been immersed in various programmes.

Youths visit Tzu Chi to learn about recycling

This morning, 13 July, 9 Nalanda youths and Nalanda leader Sis. Evelyn Chow visited Tzu Chi Recycling Centre in Seri Kembangan to learn and understand the types of materials which can be recycled as well as the proper ways to prepare them after use.  With this knowledge and hands-on learning experience, the youths are upskilling themselves to reduce waste at the upcoming Family Fun Fair through cleaning and recycling.

Celebrating Kinrara Metta’s 20 years Anniversary

On Saturday 29 June, Nalanda leaders joined our kalyana mittā at Kinrara Metta Buddhist Society (KMBS) to celebrate KMBS’s 20th Anniversary themed “Metta Starts with Me”.  Over the past 20 years, KMBS has served its community with compassion, care and harmoninously, providing a nurturing environment for individuals seeking Dhamma as life refuge.

Community gathers for Ariya Charity Fair

Early this morning, Nalanda members and volunteers joined the Buddhist community at Menara Ken in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail for a wholesome day of giving and service.  The Food and Family Fair is currently on-going until 2pm today, to raise funds for the construction of the 1st Malaysian Theravada Bhukkuni Nunnery & Dhamma Training Centre.

Buddhist Societies from Sarawak visit Nalanda Centre

On Sunday 16 June, Nalanda members welcomed leaders from five Buddhist societies in Sarawak for an exchange at Nalanda Centre.  This visit organised by YBAM (Young Buddhist Association Malaysia) Sarawak State Liaison Committee (马佛青砂拉越州联委会), provided an opportunity for everyone to make new acquaintances and learn from each other.

Leaders join Wesak programmes across Selangor

Over Wesak last month, Buddhist communities observed this holy period by gathering with like-minded friends to pay homage to the Buddha.  Nalanda leaders gladly joined Wesak programmes to connect with fellow missionaries at the Selangor State-level Wesak celebration and observances organised by Taiwan Buddhist Tzu-Chi Foundation Malaysia and Serdang Buddhist Association.

Sri Jayanti Buddhist Institute Dhamma Camp at Wisdom Park

From 27 to 28 April,  Sri Jayanti Buddhist Institute held their Family Dhamma Camp 2024 at Wisdom Park, a campus built by the Buddhist community for the Buddhist community, with the participation of over 60 Dhamma School teachers, students, parents and volunteers.

Ven. Sanghasena and Nalanda leaders visit Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple

Just yesterday, on Sunday 19 November, Ven. Sanghasena, Nalanda leaders and participants of the Jambudvipa-Suvarnabhumi Buddhist Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) visited Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple 佛光山东禅寺 in Jenjarom, Selangor.  Warmly hosted by its abbess, Ven. Jue Cheng (觉诚法师) and her team, the leaders and youths learned from each other through a fruitful exchange.
