Youths fuel-up for 2023

From 30 December 2022 to 2 January 2023, 20 Nalanda youth leaders and members gathered for their annual Fuel-up Camp to discuss the Youth Centre’s progress and gear up for the year ahead.  After an active and joyful year of reaching out with various youth programmes and leadership exchanges, they also reflected on their journey on a personal and organisational level.

Youths prepare to fuel-up for 2023

From 30 December to 2 January, Nalanda youth leaders and members will gather at Nalanda Centre and Wisdom Park for their annual Fuel-Up Camp.  After a really active year of reaching out with various youth programmes, events and leadership exchanges, they will take this opportunity to reflect on their journey on a personal and organisational level, discuss pertinent issues regarding the Youth Centre, and gear up for the year ahead. We wish our Nalanda youths leaders a fruitful retreat!

Heart full of gratitude

Our first Dhamma-living Camp for Families concluded yesterday after 3 days of joyous learning and family bonding.  Both parents and children were deeply inspired by the insightful Dhamma talks and activities which filled their hearts with a deep sense of gratitude for one another.

Welcome to Dhamma-living camp for families

The inaugural Dhamma-living Camp for Families starts tomorrow morning at Wisdom Park.  Volunteers and Dhamma School facilitators have been enthusiastically preparing the programme, activities & facilities over the past few weeks, and are now ready to welcome parents and their children.  We look forward to seeing our participants tomorrow and wish everyone a safe journey!

Registration for youth camp closed

Registration for the Dhamma-Living Camp for Young Adults 2019 witnessed an enthusiastic response with many applications received within 3 weeks.  As such, registration is now closed as the camp is over-subscribed; and although we wish to accept more participants, the limitation of accommodation does not permit us to do that.

Nottingham Youth Camp at Nalanda

From 22 to 24 March, 30 undergraduates from Nottingham University Buddhist Society (NBS) immersed themselves in a learning camp at Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang.  The theme of the camp was ‘Yellow Brick Road’, symbolizing one’s journey to true happiness.

From 5 to 8 December 2018, a Teenagers’ Dhamma Camp at Wat Pracacinaram, Wakaf Bharu was jointly organised by Nalanda Dhamma School, Dhammarakkhita group, Persatuan Peranakan Cina Kelantan, and Persatuan Meditasi Mettarama.

Free youth camp this Christmas

Thinking of how to spend your Christmas break?  Nalanda Kedah Branch is organising a FREE camp for young adults aged 18 to 29 years old; which will be conducted in Mandarin.  The 3-day camp is from 23 to 25 December, and will be held at NEO Centre Bandar Mutiara in Sungai Petani.

‘Education Day’ to be celebrated throughout December

Nalanda ‘Education Day’ is celebrated around 11 December every year with a series of programmes for teachers, devotees, teenagers and children.  This date marks the anniversary of the launching of Nalanda’s “Education Philosophy” which calls for a holistic approach in education – balancing and combining knowledge, skills, values and culture – leading to integral development of people.
