Read more‘Silver Lining’ is a programme initiated by Nalanda Youth Centre in 2015 to promote acts of kindness towards others among Malaysian youths. A ‘Silver Lining Day’ is organised once every three months where youths dedicate one Sunday to serving the community.

In Malaysia, this vibrant, multi-coloured symbol of peace is ubiquitous in temples and Buddhist centres during Wesak celebrations, but is barely visible for the rest of the year. As such, Nalanda Buddhist Society and the Theravada Buddhist Council of Malaysia are currently running a campaign aimed at educating the community on the meaning and symbolism of the flag, and to encourage Buddhists to fly the flag at home during Wesak month.
Read moreThe much-anticipated ‘Nalanda Family Fun Fair’ on 9 August is just 2 weeks away! There will be more than 120 stalls offering a wide variety of food, beverages, household items, clothes, handicraft and merchandise for sale. The ‘Fun Fair’ aims to raise funds to finance many community-based educational programmes run by Nalanda Institute, Dhamma School, Free School, the Library, and Youth Centre. It is the only fund-raising event for Nalanda Sri Serdang this year.

The ceremony marked the close of Nalanda Youth Centre’s two-month campaign to raise awareness on the importance of kindness and compassion in society.

In the week-long voting period from 5th to 11th May, 48,640 people viewed the photographs; 1,764 people voted on-line; and 8,387 votes were received in total.

Their campaign aims at promoting awareness and cultivation of kindness among Malaysian youths, and also in appreciating the kindness of others towards us.
