Yesterday, on Monday 22 July, Nalanda members and volunteers got together to deliver some care and kindness to residents of Pusat Jagaan Rumah Juara and PJ Caring Home. 180 care bags with daily use items and food were gifted to each resident of the welfare homes, together with groceries and a wholesome home-cooked lunch.

Donated by many kind supporters who wanted to both support holistic education as well as the needy, the bags were filled with necessities such as food and clothes as well as much ‘metta’!

With many fair-goers stepping forward to donate towards the ‘Care Bag’ project during the recent Nalanda Family Fun Fair 2019, we were able to choose suitable food items and provisions to help those less fortunate.

Rarely receiving visitors, the older residents chatted happily with our volunteers. We were also inspired by the compassion of the caretakers who are fully committed to care for those less fortunate, but no less relevant.

Read moreOn 2 July and 16 July, Nalanda officers paid separate visits to Tong Sim Senior Citizens’ Care Centre and Ci Hang Chempaka Welfare Association respectively. They were at the two welfare homes to deliver food items such as rice, cooking oil, dried food, and vegetables which were kindly sponsored by devotees. Nalanda President Sis. Evelyn who led the visits also offered the homes Nalanda ‘Family Fun Fair’ coupons for them to purchase other necessities at the Fair.
