Families learn together at Dhamma School

Since Sunday 19 March, over 70 parents and children have been learning together at Family Dhamma School, held at NEO KL in Happy Garden.  This weekly programme is newly launched in conjunction with Nalanda's 20th Anniversary, to provide a learning platform for both parents and children to grow spiritually and achieve domestic bliss.

Nalanda Dhamma School registration now open

Learning Dhamma is essential for the wholesome development of mind and character to live fulfilling and meaningful lives. Nalanda Dhamma School has thus been serving this purpose; to provide holistic Buddhist education to the younger generations by imparting them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and most importantly, religious and moral values. Creative videos on mental well-being

The Buddha’s teaching is centred upon understanding suffering and overcoming it.  For this ‘Buddha Day’, Nalanda Dhamma School students came up with a creative “virtual exhibition” using Doodle Art targeted at children and teenagers.  Themed “Happy Mind Happy Life”, the exhibition aims to promote mental well-being, and offer tips on how to develop our minds to a healthier state.

Joy of Gratitude at ‘Tea-offering Ceremony’

Last Sunday 9 February, devotees, volunteers and Dhamma School students gathered at Nalanda Centre to participate in the “Tea-offering Ceremony” and Gratitude Day.  This annual tradition is hosted by Nalanda Dhamma School and is an opportunity for us to express our appreciation to our parents, teachers and elders for their support and care.

Launching of ‘Tadika Nalanda’

Nalanda will be launching our first kindergarten – ‘Tadika Nalanda’ – in January 2019. We wish to provide holistic education for children’s integral growth from a very young age. Kids aged 3 and 4, and pre-schoolers aged 5 and 6, will be taught essential knowledge and skills as well as values to shape wholesome characters. Applying experiential teaching methods, we will inspire children to develop love for life-long learning.

Children’s Dhamma Camp

Nalanda Dhamma School is organising a learning camp for children from 20 – 23 December 2017, themed “Blessings”.  This camp aims to educate children to be grateful and appreciative towards all the things they have in life.  They will learn the Dhamma through interesting talks, group activities, and interactive sessions.

Celebrating Mother’s & Teacher’s Day

On 14 May, Nalandians celebrated Mother’s and Teacher’s Day in a most meaningful way – by learning the Dhamma on the importance of spiritual practice and the development of gratitude.  In his talk, Bro. Tan urged parents to lead their children to reduce sensual desires, and to guide them to develop inner strength to face worldly conditions.

Dhamma School outing to Putrajaya

On Sunday 19 February, Nalanda Dhamma School organised an outing for facilitators and students to Taman Putra Perdana in Putrajaya.  104 teenagers and children from Sri Serdang and Kuala Lumpur branches spent a healthy and fun day out with their Dhamma friends, while learning the important values of good friendship and loving-kindness.
