Gratitude abounds at BPS 307 Convocation Ceremony

On Saturday 9 November, Nalanda Institute Malaysia hosted the Convocation Ceremony & Gratitude Day for graduates of BPS 307 - Certificate in Buddhist Studies.  Over 100 people were present to celebrate this milestone for 57 graduates who persevered over the past five months in learning basic Buddhist Doctrines, as well as imbuing Dhamma practices and reflections into their daily lives.

Convocation Ceremony 2024

Nalanda Institute Malaysia will be hosting a Convocation Ceremony for the graduates of BPS307 – Certificate in Buddhist Studies next Saturday, 9 November from 3pm to 5pm.  The Convocation is in appreciation of Dhamma teachers, benefactors, supporters, officers and volunteers’ dedication. It is also an occasion to celebrate participants’ hard work and achievements in this course.

Double celebration at convocation

On Saturday 24 September, Nalanda Institute Malaysia held a Convocation Ceremony and Gratitude Day for graduates of two of its courses this year, BPS 306 Certificate in Buddhist Studies and BPS 104 Buddhist Studies in Mandarin.  Family and friends gathered in support of our 80 new Buddhists who diligently completed the courses and assignments over the past months.

BPS 403 Convocation Ceremony

On Saturday 4 January, Nalanda Institute Malaysia held the Convocation Ceremony for graduates of BPS 403 – Higher Certificate in Buddhist Studies at Nalanda Centre.  66 participants completed the 5-month course which started in July 2019.  In the presence of their loved ones, the ceremony began with an ‘ovada’ or advice from the course lecturers.

Convocation and Gratitude Day

On Saturday 14 January, Nalanda Institute held a Convocation Ceremony and Gratitude Day for graduates of BPS304 Certificate in Buddhist Studies who successfully completed their course in December 2016.  The day marked the culmination of months of lectures, assignments, presentations and written evaluation throughout the whole course, and naturally the graduates received their certificates and transcripts with much joy and satisfaction.

Excellent results for Kelantan students

On Saturday 12 December, 30 Kelantan participants of BPS303 – Certificate in Buddhist Studies course graduated with flying colours.  Their success was well-deserved as they had worked very hard and showed great tenacity to earn their certificates.  Despite the challenges they faced during the 5-month course, they never wavered in their enthusiasm and love for the Dhamma.

Nalanda Institute Convocation Ceremony 2013

Nalanda Institute Convocation Ceremony for participants of BPS 302 – Certificate in Buddhist Studies was joyously held on 30 November at Nalanda Centre.  The ceremony began with an ‘ovada’ or advice from Achariya Vijaya Samarawickrama, the Director of Nalanda Institute. He complimented all graduates for their diligence and determination over the past 5 months to complete the course.  Achariya Vijaya also quoted ‘Mangala Sutta‘ to the audience, which contains Buddha’s advice on the way to live a noble way of life which ultimately leads to liberation from suffering.
