Joyful ‘Sangha Day’ at Nalanda K.L.

On Sunday 12 November, Nalandians at the Kuala Lumpur Branch in Happy Garden celebrated ‘Sangha Day’ with much joy.  Devotees observed the occasion with meritorious acts of meditation, pūja and chanting, followed by a Dhamma talk by Sis. Sunanda, who shared about the importance of revering and supporting the Buddhist monastic order.

Nalanda to host Ven. Seelananda

Nalanda Centre is honoured to host Venerable T. Seelananda Mahathera on his upcoming visit to Malaysia from 27 to 31 January.  Born in Sri Lanka, Ven. T. Seelananda is currently the deputy abbot of Bhāvanā Society in West Virginia, USA.  He is also the co-founder of Samatha-Vipassana Meditation Centre in Edmonton, Canada.

Nalanda to host Ajahn Kalyāno

On 24 and 25 December 2017, Nalanda Centre will be hosting Ven. Ajahn Kalyāno, the abbot of Lokuttara Buddhist Monastery in Skiptvet, Norway, a branch monastery in the Thai forest tradition of Ajahn Chah.  Join us for a Dhamma talk by Ajahn Kalyāno on Sunday 24 December, at 8.00pm.

Last alms-round of the year

We invite you to offer alms to monks at the Jalan Besar morning market and Pasar Rakyat in Seri Kembangan on Saturday, which is Nalanda’s last educational Pindacāra of 2017.  The day’s programme begins at 7.30am with chanting at Nalanda Centre Sri Serdang, followed by alms-round in nearby Seri Kembangan starting 8.30am.

Nalanda Centre will be hosting renowned and inspiring Dhamma teacher, Ven. Thubten Chodron, on her upcoming visit to Malaysia.  Ven. Thubten Chodron is the Founder and Abbess of Sravasti Abbey – a Tibetan Buddhist monastery for monks and nuns in America.

Nalanda to host Ayya Dhammanandī

Nalanda Centre is hosting Venerable Ayya Dhammanandī from 18 to 20 November.  Hailing from Singapore, Ayya Dhammanandī is currently studying at the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University in Yangon and is an avid meditator.  We invite everyone to offer her breakfast dāna at 7.00am and lunch dāna at 11.00am, on 19 and 20 November.  You may bring along vegetarian food or fruits to offer her.  All are welcome!

Visit to Vihāra Buddha Gotama

On Friday 29 September, a group of 20 blessed Nalandians from Nalanda Kuala Lumpur Branch led by founder Bro. Tan visited Vihāra Buddha Gotama (VBG) in Temoh, Perak.  The group was warmly welcomed by abbot of VBG, Venerable Dhammavuddho Mahāthera and other resident monks there.
