Completion of Sutta Study in Mandarin

On Saturday 27 April, over 100 participants and volunteers of the Sigalovada Sutta (Digha Nikaya 31) Study Course in Mandarin completed their final session at all three Nalanda Branches in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Sungai Petani.

Youths learn about mindfulness with Bro. Jeff Oliver

On Sunday 28 January, youths gathered at Nalanda Youth Centre to learn from Bro. Jeff Oliver, a Vipassana meditation teacher.  Bro. Jeff shared the importance of maintaining mindfulness in our daily lives as much as we can, in order to train the mind to stay in the present moment.  This helps us to gradually understand the realities of life, and greatly enables our progress in meditation.

‘Family Dhamma School’ starts in Johor Bahru

Good news for our friends in the south – ‘Nalanda Family Dhamma School’ will be launched at Nalanda Johor Bharu Branch!  This integrated programme offers a conducive platform for parents and children to come together for Dhamma learning and practice.  With the family being the primary social unit in all human societies, this provides an optimal way for the entire family to grow together spiritually and achieve domestic bliss.

Family Dhamma School learns Buddhist culture

Last weekend, from 16 to 17 December, Nalanda Family Dhamma School hosted a Dhamma Camp at Wisdom Park for their students, a very welcomed trip for the families after two joyful visits there earlier this year.  Guided by the School’s facilitators, the group of 60 were immersed in Dhamma living and deepened their understanding of Buddhist culture and its importance in our spiritual cultivation.

From 11 to 13 November, 18 Dhamma School facilitators rejuvenated in their training and retreat themed 'Refresh and Recharge'.  Guided by the School Director, Sis. See Hui Shien, they enhanced their skills and teaching approach as part of their preparations for the new 2024 school year.

DLCY campers reunite after two months

On Sunday 5 November, participants of the Dhamma-living Camp for Young Adults (DLCY) reconnected with their Dhamma friends at the Reunion Day.  Gathering at Nalanda Youth Centre, they were happy to see their kalyana mittas again and reminisced memorable moments learning Dhamma together.

Last Sunday 5 November, Nalanda Teenage, Junior and Family Dhamma Schools in Sri Serdang and Kuala Lumpur concluded their year of learning with much joy and gratitude.  After months of camaraderie and support for each other, both facilitators and students shared their heartfelt reflections.

Firefly Mission Singapore’s first Dhamma Camp at Wisdom Park

From 2 to 4 November, Firefly Mission Singapore descended upon Wisdom Park to learn and reflect on the Buddha’s Teachings with good friends.  The 3-day 2-night Dhamma Camp was a welcomed respite for the group who better connected not just with themselves, but also with nature.
