Welcome to Dhamma-Living Camp for Young Adults!

This Thursday 28 September, Nalanda Youth Centre will be welcoming over 90 participants for the 6th Dhamma-Living Camp for Young Adults at Wisdom Park.  This camp, themed ‘Making Wise Choices in Life’, is an excellent opportunity for youths to deepen one’s own understanding of the Buddha-Dhamma and to incorporate the practice at this impressionable stage of life.

Learning with Ven. Ariyadhammika

On the evening of Assayuja New-moon, on Friday 15 September, Nalanda members and devotees learned more about the cultivation of virtues and the factors leading to harmony from Ven. Ariyadhammika.   Putting the congregation’s knowledge to the test, venerable sir engaged them in a quiz and embedded the teachings of Buddha when he expounded on each answer.

Learning Dhamma with Ven. Prof. Dhammajoti

On Monday 24 July, we were honoured to host Ven. Professor K.L. Dhammajoti, a Malaysian monk of Chinese descent, and one of the leading scholars on the Abhidhamma.  In his Dhamma teaching, Ven. Dhammajoti advocated learning the Dhamma by learning and reflecting on the suttas, and putting what we learn into practice.

The happiest times we recollect as a family are when we are involved in doing something wholesome and caring together.  At Nalanda Education & Outreach Centre in Happy Garden, students of Family Dhamma School gather on Sundays to do just that, accruing many days of joyful moments in the company of each other, facilitators and good spiritual friends.

Joyful Dhamma Learning with Ven. Lim Sukhito

From 29 June to 1 July, over 40 Nalanda members and devotees gathered every day at the Dhamma Camp to learn and reflect on the Buddha’s teachings with Ven. Lim Sukhito, Abbot of Bukit Mertajam Buddhist Meditation Centre.  The camp on “Living a meaningful life with the Noble Eightfold Path” was hosted at Nalanda Education & Outreach Sungai Petani, for participants to better understand the Noble Eightfold Path and cultivate virtues to live a purposeful and fulfilling life.

‘Dhammapada Study Series’ is tomorrow

The second session of the Dhammapada Study Series will be held tomorrow, 2pm Saturday 10 June at Nalanda Centre.  Together, we shall explore selected verses of ‘The Twin Verses’ chapter with Sis. Paruadi Ramasamy to learn and reflect on the Buddha’s message of compassion and wisdom.

BPS 104 participants complete their course at Wisdom Park

On 20 – 21 May, participants and volunteers of BPS 104 Buddhist Course in Mandarin gathered in Wisdom Park for a stay-in programme.  They hailed from Klang Valley, Johor Bahru and Sungai Petani where they attended seven classes since February at NEO Centres in KL, JB and SP.  The participants were happy to take to the open grounds of the educational campus for the final part of the course.
