Second National Camp for Dhamma School Teachers

Nalanda Buddhist Society and Theravada Buddhist Council of Malaysia (TBCM) are organising the second National Camp for Dhamma School Teachers with the theme ‘Education of the Heart’.  This 4-day 3-night camp is a platform for Dhamma School teachers to learn and discuss ways to enhance approaches in sharing the Buddha's teachings in a systematic and engaging manner to the younger generation.

Growth and progress at Dhamma School Honours Day

On Sunday 31 December 2023, Nalanda Dhamma School facilitators, volunteers, students, and their parents gathered for the joyful annual School Appreciation and Honours Day at Nalanda Centre.  This long-held tradition was a time for everyone to reflect and rejoice in their learning, personal growth and selfless service throughout the year.

Nalanda Dhamma School 19th Anniversary

Today, 1 January 2024 marks the 19th Anniversary of Nalanda Dhamma School.  To commemorate this special occasion, Nalanda members, facilitators and students gathered at the Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple in Sentul to pay respects to our Spiritual Advisor, Ven. Sri Saranankara Nāyaka Thero and venerable Sangha members there.

Dhamma Schools prepare for Honours Day

For the past weeks, Nalanda Dhamma Schools' facilitators and students have been working together to prepare for the their big event of the year – the “School Honours Day”!  Teenager and junior students, as well as Family Dhamma School students have been collaborating to show their appreciation to parents, facilitators, supporters and benefactors who have supported the Schools throughout the year.

Dhamma School Appreciation & Honours Day

Every year on 31 December, Nalanda Dhamma School observes its “Appreciation & Honours Day” with facilitators, students and parents coming together to express their gratitude for each other, and to thank everyone for their dedication to Dhamma learning.  This year, for the first time, parents and children of the inaugural intake of Family Dhamma School will also be part of this endearing programme.

Last Sunday 5 November, Nalanda Teenage, Junior and Family Dhamma Schools in Sri Serdang and Kuala Lumpur concluded their year of learning with much joy and gratitude.  After months of camaraderie and support for each other, both facilitators and students shared their heartfelt reflections.

Dhamma School registration now open

Learning Dhamma is essential for the wholesome development of mind and character to live fulfilling and meaningful lives. Nalanda Dhamma School has thus been serving this purpose; to provide holistic Buddhist education to the younger generations by imparting them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and most importantly, religious and moral values. Ultimately, students are independently equipped for worldly responsibilities and are set to eventually experience spiritual awakening in their lives.
