Venerable first ordained as a Buddhist novice monk in 1975 in Sri Lanka, then undertook the Upasampadā ordination in 1979. Venerable resided at the Bhavana Society Forest Monastery in West Virginia, USA for 24 years until 2010, and now travels around the world on a teaching tour.
